The Florida Department of Transportation District Two and their planning partners are working hard to improved freight and goods movement in the region. No matter your role in the supply chain, we want you to have a voice in the freight infrastructure and transportation planning process.
The Study was conducted by the Florida Department of Transportation District Two with the overall goal of enhancing and expanding the freight program for the 18-county Northeast Florida region.
The Study identified critical freight transportation challenges and outlined opportunities for improvement. The Study also highlighted the importance of freight to the economy and quality of life to the region.
View Executive Summary BookletAs a follow-up action identified in the Freight Movement Study, the Florida Department of Transportation District Two is conducting a regional truck parking study to plan for steady growth in the region and support the on-going expansion in truck parking infrastructure, this study will seek to understand existing facilities, the unmet parking need and demand for truck movements in today’s economy, and the regulations and policies in order to provide adequate truck parking capacity.
The Northeast Florida region is a major freight gateway with the convergence of intermodal transportation facilities, supportive warehousing and distribution centers, and a highly skilled workforce.
